Brianne Olsen
Brianne has been a prizewinner in the National Flute Associaton’s Orchestral Audition Competition, the Frank Bowen Competition, and in 2008 she was the winner of the Central Ohio Flute Association Young Artist Competition. She plays with CityMusic Cleveland, the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra, and Opera Western Reserve. Brianne has had the opportunity to play principal flute with the Rome Festival Orchestra in Italy and perform as a guest artist at the 2004 British Flute Society Convention in London, England. Her undergraduate and graduate degrees were earned from Northwestern University, in Evanston, Illinois, where she studied with Walfrid Kujala and Richard Graef of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In between these degrees she studied for two years at “The Flute Studio” in Kent, England under Trevor Wye as the recipient of a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship and the Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship.
